3D Elevation Program (3DEP) Public Webinars
USGS FY19/20 Broad Agency Announcement for 3D Elevation Program (3DEP)
Data Acquisition Partnership Opportunities
3DEP – First-ever Baseline goal
The goal of 3DEP is to complete acquisition of nationwide lidar (IfSAR in AK) to provide the first-ever national baseline of consistent high-resolution elevation data – both bare earth and 3D point clouds – collected in a time-frame of less than a decade.
The annual Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) is a competitive solicitation issued to facilitate the collection of lidar and derived elevation data for the 3D Elevation Program. Federal agencies, state and local governments, tribes, academic institutions and the private sector are eligible to submit proposals. The 3DEP public webinars introduced this opportunity to the broadest stakeholder community possible and provided a forum for interested parties to discuss elevation data collection needs of mutual interest that could be addressed by a coordinated investment.
Public Webinar Information
The USGS hosts a public webinar each year to introduce the BAA opportunity to the broadest stakeholder community possible and to provide a summary of the application process. As space is limited, registration is required and will be accepted on a first come basis. The public webinar for the FY20 BAA was held on August 7, 2019. More information can be found on the FY19/20 Broad Agency Announcement web page. The USGS appreciates your interest and involvement in the 3DEP program.
